MEET THE TEAM – CERTIFIED STUDENT TRANSFORMATION SPECIALISTS (CSTS)

Dorothee Burchartz, CTST, OABT - Dorothee received my BA in Mathematics and Economics from Upsala College, East Orange, NJ in 1976, after which she entered the IT field as a programmer, eventually becoming a Business Systems Analyst and Project Manager. But over the past twelve years her focus has been the three children she adopted from Bulgaria. All were school-aged when they arrived, and all turned out to have a learning disability.

Frustrated with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, the lack of assistance provided by the schools, and the empty promises of "No Child Left Behind", she went in search of other methods of improving my children's ability to learn. Dorothee found that many of the cognitive skills programs were too difficult to administer to her own children, too inconvenient to get to, or far too expensive for her budget. Now that she has retired from the IT world, she has turned my passion toward filling that gap for others in her situation. Dorothee became a Certified Student Transformation System Specialist™ (certified by Enhanced Learning Skills for Kids, LLC), and created Brain Spring Learning to offer affordable assistance to families who need real, effective, transformational help for their kids.

Dorothee had a number of tutoring jobs when she was in high school and college, and she really enjoys the one-on-one type of teaching. It is very rewarding for her to focus on one student at a time, and be able to give her attention to their individual needs and challenges. While she gives a lot of credit to those who do their best to teach to the middle of a class of 20 or 30 students, while trying to hold the attention of those who are either lost or bored, that is not her strength. She wants to make a difference in the life of your child, an individual with unique challenges. Dorothee wants to transform your child, because no child deserves to be "left behind."

Susan Keenan, CSTS, OABT Susan first worked with Colleen three years ago when her eldest daughter was a student of hers.  Her daughter at the time was very discouraged with school and Colleen stepped right in to encourage her and help her to develop the strategies she needed to be a successful high school student.  Susan knew then that she wanted to be a part of this process and became a Certified Student Transformation Specialst (CSTS) and a member of the Online Association of Brain Trainers (OABT).  Susan is based out of Clinton, NJ and works with families in NJ and around the country.

Joyce SwartzJoyce Swartz, CSTS - Joyce’s goal as a Student Transformation Specialist and Certified Online Brain Trainer is to help students reach their greatest potential—cognitively, academically, and personally.  A former educator in the private arena, Joyce loves working with children and teens to help them unleash their hidden potential by improving their cognitive skills, which will, in turn, empower them for life.

Joyce’s passion for helping misunderstood and underperforming children began when her own son was diagnosed with ADHD.  Seeking out-of-the-box answers, they began brain training activities before she even understood what brain training is and how it can benefit the whole child.

Currently employed at a faith-based, residential children’s home, Joyce has done brain training with over 30 children.  To date, all of the children who have completed the brain training and pre and post testing have shown significant improvement in two or more areas—some improving as many as nine years in a single cognitive skill.   Joyce lives in Arkansas.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing her violin, and spending time with her husband.  jswartzbraintrainer@gmail.com

FOR NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK AND PENNSYLVANIA BASED CLIENTS –

Stefanie Reuter– Owner, Reach Educational Services (RES), Therapist, Mentor, Tutor, Babysitter, etcStefanie
Stefanie started Reach Educational Services (RES), because she really loves helping people and especially helping children. She never wants a child to go without needed support because of lack of money. She is a masterful problem solver and often uses creative “out of the box” ideas to meet her objectives. Stefanie is still pursuing an advanced degree in special education and in this ever growing and changing field she continually attends supporting workshop and events whenever possible. Many people ask why she started RES and where she gained her passion and vision. Here’s a brief summary in her own words:

“I started working with children from a very young age. I babysat starting at 11 years old and I absolutely loved it! I started to baby-sit for autistic and physically handicapped children and I started researching disabilities. I wanted to know why these kids were so different yet talented. That was the start of my passion for children, especially those with special needs.”

As Stefanie got older she realized that there was a real need for people who genuinely loved these children, so she continued working with special needs children by babysitting and volunteering her time in various capacities. She spent most of her time engaging and learning more about the special needs community. In following her passion she subsequently began going to school for General Education, Special Education and Autism.  As the company’s founder, Stefanie continues to remain involved in all aspects of services provided through RES by providing “hands on” support for therapy, tutoring, babysitting, etc. She simply loves to help and is proud of her team who make her dreams come to life every day!  Stefanie currently partners with Speech and Language, Music, ABA, Art, Horse, Swimming and other therapists to provide full end-to-end services for her clients.  Working through Reach, ELS4KIDS is able to tap into the extraordinary expertise that already meets the needs of many in the tri-state area!  We are able to help you receive top notch support and therapy for your child in your own home, in most cases and with insurance support.
