Brain Training Research

Brain training has been researched for a number of years and the findings are important in how we help our children progress in their learning and grow in their education. With the research, people are finding that brain training is not just for children anymore. It’s something that can and should be used on adults as well.

The following information was taken from an article at Sharpbrains.com. It was posted by Alvaro Fernandez on July 23, 2008.

Brain training is critical, but it’s hard to make any type of projection at the same time.   Basically all we can do is observe others and watch as things change with new tools.

It’s thought the baby boomers are going to start looking for ways to stay fit mentally. With computers becoming a way of life, they must find a way to increase their vocabulary and thinking. Brain training and fitness is the way to do that with ease.

It’s thought that mental and physical exercise go hand in hand. With that said, it’s predicted that podcasts that will be available for download to an Ipod or MP3 player and these people that want to strengthen their brains will listen to these while they strengthen their bodies.

With the healthcare changes, it’s thought that the government will have some kind of initiative so go along with keeping fit and staying healthy. Political people are looking for ways to delay or prevent Alzheimer’s and they’re thinking brain training may be the way.

Computers are becoming more and more popular and that will bring changes and improvements to tools and devises that already exist. We’re also sure to find the computer helping with learning disabilities.

Those in the medical fields will need to help patients decide what products they should use to improve their cognitive skills. This will require training on the part of the doctors and other medical staff, but the outcome will be worth it for everyone.

Insurance companies are going to get involved in brain training as well. You’re sure to see incentives for those that encourage a healthy brain. These incentives will help encourage people to do what’s needed to keep their brains in good working order and healthy.

Large corporations will more then likely introduce brain training into their wellness programs. These will be used to increase cognitive performance as well as productivity. Once the training has been in place for a while, they’ll start to see the benefits and when released to the public other companies will follow suit.

Another organization that will use brain training is the US military. They’ll increase funding that will help with research to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This will bring the results to the public and will become commercialized.

Brain training is being studied more and the research that is coming from those studies is steadily increasing. More and more people in important positions are realizing what it’ll do to help people. When this happens, brain training is sure to spread widely.
